Janelle Jenny Launa Kelly Terrie



Janelle Green

Janelle has worked in the education field since she graduated from Gallaudet University with a M.A. degree in Parent-Infant education in 1993. Janelle began working at CSDR in August, 2003, after she followed her husband here. She became the PIP teacher in August, 2004.

Janelle really enjoys the time she has with the PIPers, but her favorite time is circle time. This is the time in which she gets to laugh the most. Janelle wants the PIP parents to know that she, "Feels extremely honored to be working with their family. I absolutely love my job!"

Janelle has been married to her husband, Darrin for 13 years. They have four children, Jolyn is 12 years old, Jacy is 10 years old, Dallis is seven years old, and Jadyn is four years old. The Greens have a Chocolate lab named, Chocolate.

Jenny Weiss

Jenni attended Gallaudet University where she received a Bachelors in Psychology. She then attended CSU, Northridge where she received her masters degree and teaching credential.

Jenni has two children who deaf attend CSDR, Jacob in 2nd grade and Hannah in PreK.

Jenni has worked at CSDR for seven years in the Early Childhood Education Department as a Preschool and Kindergarten teacher. She has been working in the Parent Infant Program for the past three years. She loves the ECE department. Jenni says, " I CANNOT imagine working elsewhere but with the PIPers!"

Jenni's favorite part of the day is the "mingling" amongst the students. It is the time they show their true selves and we can join their activities. Jenni also loves the "bye bye" circle time. She knows they love this time and are excited to sing different songs. She says, "It is so cute to see their little hands signing! Too precious."

Jenni thinks there are countless moments when the is funny as well as touching. She thinks it so cute to see the PIPers trying to "copy" how the adults talk, not knowing that are actually paying attention or pick up our signs.

Launa Haywood

Launa worked for CSDR as a substitute aide in February, 2007. She became a permanent aide at CSDR in August, 2007. Previously to working at CSDR, Launa worked for the Corona/Norco School district for three years.

Launa loves circle time after recess because she loves to sing and sign the songs to and with the PIPers. She thinks they are cute trying to sign the songs. Launa says, "The kids make me laugh everyday. When I get up in the morning I look forward to spending my morning with them".

Launa has been married to her husband, Dana for 16 years. They have two sons, Josh is 16 years old and Justin is 11 years old. The Haywood family has a 2 year old German Shepard who is just like a son to Launa.

Kelly Roberts

Kelly began working in PIP in September of 2007. After being a stay at home mom for the past three years she needed to return to work part time. Kelly knew some people that worked in the district, the PIP program, and they all recommended that she apply. Kelly thinks that all the time she spends with the PIPers is fun. She loves to see their responses as they grasp the language. Kelly says, "Everyday is hilarious in some ways, you have to see it to believe it!"

Kelly is married to a deaf man named John. They have three hearing children, Grace age 7, Brecker and Jade (twins) age 4. Kelly's husband, John, grew up in Riverside and attended CSDR since the age of 7 until his graduation.

Kelly wants the PIPer parents to know that everyone who works in the program adores working with these kids and seeing them grow.

Terrie Berdy

Terrie has been working in the PIP class since September of 2007. Terrie has worked for RUSD for three years. RUSD decided that this year they wanted Terrie to work in the PIP program. Terrie enjoys everything that happens in class. Terrie said, "It is so much fun and a joy to see all the kids developing their own language and expression!" Terrie thinks that there is too much to list that makes them laugh all the time in class, but they do enjoy it all.

Terrie is married to Scott and they have two great sons. Sean is 14 and Tyler is 11. They also have two big dogs that are Rhodesian Ridgebacks, named Colby and Keeba. We are a deaf family!
